Tango, welcome to the forums. Back in early '70's I was a dispatcher and jailer for our little PD....ended up in pharmacy school....but still get to have some fun with the druggies that are dumb enough to come in the store. Also have a Jeep.... '03 Rubicon....love the little urchin!
Regards, Mike

Mike, got any other stories of them you'd like to share? I remember the one about some "natural herbs" being left ina prescription bottle, it made me laugh.

Mike, a Rubicon !!! not many other mods you need other than a lift and a winch to pull out the hummers. My funny druggie story was in court one time a robbery suspect I arrested wouldn't take his hand out of his pockets. When the Judge ordered him to, a large bag of rock cocaine hit the floor. He later told the jailer he didn't want to leave it in the car because the car was stolen and he knew the cops would tow it !!!!!!!!!!. Wanna trade your Rubicon for a CJ ????????

My dumb crook news. We have been having a plethora of copper thefts in the last few months. A few weeks ago, a Duke Power employee found one of our frequent fliers inside a sub station. He was removing copper from live switches, with electricity measured in the thousands of volts. He grabbed the wrong one.

Needless to say, he ain't stealing any more copper.

Oh yeah, I own a 93 Cherokee. I know it's not what you meant, but it is a JEEP!

By request, a couple more dumb doper stories:
Guy shows up late one evening with a oxycodone prescription that I was sure was forged. I told him I thought it was forged, but since I could not verify with physician, I would let him go and hold the prescription to verify it the next AM. Next morning, I verified the rx was indeed forged and figured I would not see the guy again....WRONG...idiot showed up about noon to get his pills....got some PD bling instead.

Stoner showed up with forged rx....when calling PD, he did a rabbit through the gift shop....I caught him at the door, blocking his exit...he stood there a second with my left hand on his chest stopping him....he says "You ain't gonna let me leave are you?"...."Nope" I says....he pulls up his shirt and goes into his pocket....I go for my small of the back "friend"....he pulls out a bag of pot and drops it on the floor....the toad does not know how close he came.....that would have really complicated my day.

I'm not a police officer, but I worked with them from time to time when I was in assets protection.

One day, I was walking the salesfloor, when I came up on this person sitting in the middle of an aisle, popping open a DVD box set. I backed up a few steps, and acted like I was looking at movies while she proceeded to pocket the discs. I followed her and saw her pick out another DVD. She started to try and break open the case with a small nail file. This was in the middle of a quiet store, with another person in the aisle. She decided she needed a little privacy, so she moved to another aisle and pocketed the dvd. Finally she paid for an item, stole a magazine off the rack and tried to leave with her mother.

When I got her back in my office, the only thing she would admit to was the magazine. Finally, I sat down in front of her, and in a very serious tone, told her that when the police got there, and found more merchandise on her, I was going to be very upset with her. She produced the DVD's rather quickly after that.:D
