Search for Speed Lock 3000 on bokerusa.com.

I like the looks of it but how well does it work and hold up?

Are there any dealers in the San Jose area so I could play with before picking it up?

Those autos have reputation to have pretty good mecanism for the money.
Blade steel is 4034 which is close to 420: not too good.
Previous speedlocks had a wider choice of steel.

Look at the sticky on top of the boker forum

As said all speed locks imported come without springs to the usa..

I own a speedlock 2 this is the one with a smaller blade as the regular speedlock. It is an excellent knive but D4wave spyderco or E4wave spyderco would be a better choice in reliability when kept in your pocket for a long time.

BTW it is not a bad knive but i would never rely on an auto for edc/sd carry in left/right front pocket.

All autos equiped with springs are sensitive to pocket flint. If you do not take them apart every month or so and keep them surfices dry .So don't use oil on the blade or handle Only just lucbricate in the inner parts veryyy lightlyyy.

The most "dust" creeps in on the push buttons/ lock levers/buttons. Better less as overdo lubrication. I see Auto's as SD backups i rarely carry them for EDC.

If you want the best of both worlds i would look at spyderco /emerson for the waved versions.

Maybe the Kudo 3000 version 2008/2009 :) if they come out!!!. The handle more grippy with the upgraded blade steel XT-15-N would rail me in.:( (LMAOOTF)

The 3000 speedlocks come in 4043 The speedlock 2 came in 4034 and extra 440c Yes i'm picky on that. LMAOOTF

If you want to get a speedlock 3000. I would look for the ones Kudos version in XT-15-N blade steel. This steel is a great steel comparible to H1 i think.

Take care
