Any love for canoes?

I have been a fab of slip joints for some time but don't see much love for the canoe pattern. Is there a reason why or am I not using the search feature correctly?

I see a lot of knives with the same basic blade layout and think that the canoe shape might lead to safer usage but since I don't have one I could be wrong. Does anyone like them and if so what is your favorite?

I like mine. Just the standard Case amber bone CV. Good looking knife, in my opinion. Probably wouldn't be my first choice in blade combinations, though, two spear points. Doesn't have the variety you get in other two or three-blade patterns.

I really like the look of the Canoe but find the blades redundant. Also when using the pen the main blade makes it awkward (for me) to grip/use. I carry mine (rarely) as I use my knives at work.

I only have these two. They seem to be pretty decent but they dont see any pocket time. I don't like the blade rub that seems to be pretty common with them. But I like the look of the pattern as a whole.

I like the feel of my canoe and how it carrys in the pocket. It stays at home, however. Two spears keep it out of my pocket.

Although I do not have many and do not really care for the pattern I ALWAYS recommend this when asked what a good "starter" trad is. I get asked that question by my employees and customers all the time. To me the canoe is a gateway trad knife....kinda starts it all and then gets left in the dust when the real obsession takes root. Hahaha.

 That's exactly howI started with US knives. In fact it was a lovely Baby Butterbean Case. Lovely, but too small to do something my Micra would not do. Now it is safely in my purse, in a neat sheath and sees the light from time to time to open a letter or so.

My thoughts excatly. Dont like them as users but like to look at them

Love the pattern, I don't see the problem with two spear blades, the size difference keeps them from being redundant. One is much smaller for detail work, one is big for big work..... or, one for work, one for food. I use the bigger for food and skinning. The Canoe great little pattern. I'll post pics of the Peanut Butter Canoe in a min.

I like the canoe. A Buck 389 is on rotation as one of my EDC trios. It time shares pocket time with my Buck 301 stockman.
When I get home time (hopefully around Christmas) I'll be able to check out the Case canoe I was gifted, and the Colt, Rough Rider, and I think a Hammer Brand canoe that I bought last year.
I expect they will all see pocket time.

Thank you for all of the feedback. I normally carry either a stockman or a peanut everyday depending on what I will be doing. For some reason I have never had a canoe but it has caught my attention lately.

Thank you for the links. I have no idea why I couldn't find anything when I searched. Most likely something between my phone and the app not working with each other as intended.

The canoe is one of my top patterns, and the queen version of it is my favorite! Here is my Northwoods canoe (made my queen)

I have a Buck canoe in my pocket right now. The blades being the same really doesn't bother me since it's not the only knife I carry. I carry that or a mini copperlock in case I'm around people that may not like knives as much as I do....

I love the main blade and overall shape - don't use the small blade much, though sometimes it's good to have the smaller blade for things like zip ties where the main blade isn't pointy enough.

Agreed....I think it's a handy little option.

Not my cup of tea I'm afraid. Don't like the large bolster look too much. Traded a Queen Canoe in D2, quite the sturdy item despite being single spring. The Böker I have is a smaller lighter type, not bad at all in finish but still leaves me unmoved.

Fans of the Canoe might like to look at GEC's 16 pattern, they have immense bolsters :D and many dealers seem to have a good stock of them in varied scale options, worth looking into.
