Just picked up a bad case of the Kershaw bug after I got my new JYDII last week. (Again). Anybody have this knife? (Groove).... and their impressions of it. I was also comparing it with the Lahar. Been looking at these two for awhile now . Thanks.

Haven't owned a Lahar but I had a Groove a while back. Some thoughts:

-Excellent ergos, probably the most comfortable Kershaw I've used
-Flips open very easily, like the JYD2 does
-Great texture to the G10
-Excellent lock up as usual for Kershaw's liner / frame locks
-I like the blade shape overall, but the slight recurve and thickness of the edge bevel I didn't care for
-The pocket clips works well and is shaped so as to not interfere with the grip as much as larger clips do

I have a pair of Grooves, and it like the Groove ALOT. One is my EDC folder.

The Groove Tanto is the favorite knife of my wife. It my favorite also, I just wish it was coming out in a composite version. If it does, I'll pre-order one!

My tanto groove looks like an automatic it opens so fast. Mine is centered, locks up perfectly, works perfectly. I'm getting different scales for mine, however, as I find mine slightly too slippery for my tastes, but that's just me :)

The groove has been my EDC ever since i bought it. Whats not to love? great ergos, great flipper, well thought out all around knife with a great wow factor when you pull the knife out and people see the "grooves" and ask "What is that??"

The Groove is in a class by itself...a smooth fast-opening manual with a solid frame lock plus the design by R. J. Martin is just fantastic.

The Tanto Groove is my favorite...I love the blade shape, but the others are great, too.

Ray :)

I LOVE my groove to death... after a few weeks of use, it's worn in nicely. It is (short of the JYD II) the SMOOTHEST opening knife I own. (I have no idea why the JYD is so smooth... it's such a heavy blade... maybe how the stop pin is set up? I dunno...) I love it, perhaps my favorite Kershaw... of course thats like picking your favorite kid, isn't it?

I think I'll get an all-black Tanto Groove some time in the future. For now, i just have the regular model.

things about this knife:

-Very wide spine. Very beefy blade even with those weird Grooves cut in it. Feels rock solid.
-Flipper works perfectly once the washers have been worn in (or sanded then worn in, as i do). This knife, you don't even need to flick your wrist to open it, once you get your technique down.
-Clip is great. Convert it to tip-up, it works so much better!
-Feels great in the hand. Really does. The flipper becomes a nice finger guard when open, there are some phat choils for your fingaz, just feels "natural"... and the funky G10 scales provide a lot of grip.
-despite having a lot of parts, the groove is a CINCH to take apart, clean and reassemble
-Get one!!
