I should have titled this "Anyone with the skills"

I have a Scrap Yard Knife Works Yard Keeper that is becoming the bane of my existence. I bought it from a forum member with a damaged handle, (a squirrel chewed on it). SYKW is willing to put a new RES-C handle on it but after some thought, I decided I'd rather not have the RES-C.

I've inquired with several fine makers here already but they are either too busy or don't work on any knives other than their own...all completely understandable responses.

I'm looking for a new handle on this knife either G-10 or Micarta with at least one lanyard hole. You can do anything else you'd like to this knife provided the overall blade shape is preserved.

Of course I'll pay for the work.

Any new new makers or hobbyist looking to show off their talents?

Here are some pics. The first pic is not my knife...the others are.

If that were my knife, I'd send it to Bark River and have their shop rats make a real good knife out of that... strip off the black crap, fully convex the blade, and put on the handle material of your choice. (then I'd start a special thread for Mongo in the cove... you know what I like...;))

Mongo...what it the picture of the tang that drew you in here? :p

That tang is specifically shaped so that the handle can be molded arou it and not be "floppy" down by the finger groove. You want a one piece handle or a mortised one?

I don't really care. I just want a handle. :)

i know you said G10 or micarta...

but if it was mine i would full convex/strip the blade, give it a two piece mortised handle of some stabilized burl i have...i would probably go crotch walnut. stainless thong tube.

if i had some micarta or G10 laying around i would offer to do it for you, but as such i'm not really able.

looks like a fun project for whoever ends up with it though.

how much would you pay for work like that? i'm new to this, but I could do that for you.

You're reading my mind. I talked to Bark River this morning They are going to strip the blade and put on a maroon linen micarta handle with a stainless lanyard tube. They are also going to put convex edge on it.
