If so do you know the knife laws? I dont understand some of the wording on the pa knife law site. Maybe you could clarify for me? thanks!

The only place you really have to worry about what you carry is in Philadelphia. You can carry anything but an auto everywhere else. local laws might be more restrictive but the state laws are pretty loose. Oh and balisongs are legal to carry.

what qualifies as an auto?

An auto is a switchblade. You know, has a switch that causes the blade to be released and swing into position by force of a spring. To quote the statute from PA law itself:

any... dagger, knife, razor or cutting instrument, the blade of which is exposed in an automatic way by switch, push-button, spring mechanism, or otherwise

That defintion could included AOs too.....worded poorly that way.."automatic way" leaves alot up to the officer
