The other day I was wandering around in here and came across this thread:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=821859

Great thread. However I got to wondering how many people how ther are currently using a MUT or have in the past. I really like the concept of this multitool. As I have mentioned in some other threads I currently have a cheap walmart multitool I received as a gift. It mainly stays in a pack, but I am looking at getting one to carry daily and I think the MUT would also be great for range days.

What do you guys say?

Yes it was - one heck of a thread! :D AFAIK my buddy still hasn't decided on the MUT or whatever.

I have one, used it a little, I will use it the next time I clean my Bushmaster. It is not my primary MT, the ST300 is my work horse. I prefer the ST300 but again the MUT is for weapons and some utility work.

I would not get one unless you are Military or have Civi AR-15s.

But if you are a MT collector yes get it.

I have several ST300's 4 now I think and one MUT.

I've EDC'ed a MUT EOD for about a month . I like it lots . I don't see it being displaced any time soon . I had all kinds of ideas about modding/pimping , but don't feel the need ATM . Since I always back up a Multi with a SAK , I don't feel any loss over such things as scissors .

My EDC has actually gotten lighter , as I no longer feel a need for a folder / tactical .

I have got a lot of use out of the hammer /prying function . The MUT is by far the best built Leatherman I have ever run across . The MUT bit holder has the strength to make full use of the concept . The long bits are great .

It performs well on both the jobsite ant the great outdoors . BTW , I haven't touched an AR platform since 1975 .

CDF, great brief review. Thanks. I currently own one AR with the desire to pick up at least one more.

RickJ I will check out the ST300 as well for comparison. Thanks

I can get the polished ST300 at the PX on Base for $59.95 tax free, Black one for $69.95 the MUT cost $128.00 so this is one of the reasons along with the utility and comfort (Scales) I prefer the ST300. Again the MUT will get some use and if I deploy again, will take it with me along with one or two ST300's. I always have an extra MT in my A-Bag.

On my last deployment to Afghanistan,2006-2007 time frame I used the Core, it broke (My fault) so I had to use my stand by ST200 at the time. Again always good to have one to fall back on.

Two is one , one is none ! Never mind potential trading stock .
