Any NC Makers?

Are there any central/eastern NC makers here that would be interested in teaching me the art. I am not interested in the money aspect,as Im sure that the money to hours spent and materials used ratio leaves it less lucritive than some might think. I have always loved knives, and I am great with my hands. Im a bit of a perfectionist, which usually leaves me taking longer to do things. I have no passions in my life, and I think this would fit the bill. If anyone would be willing, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm afraid I cant pay much, but I am willing to learn.

Welcom Chris B. First off is someone wants money from you leave there shop. I always offer to sweep the floors or something like that. I am not the calaber to teach but I can vouch for what can be learned on this forum with alot of patience.......just come here everyday and talk to us nuts .

I'm not sure what part of N.C. you are in, but this November 6, 7. There is a hammer-in in Blairsville, Ga. at www.trackrock.com . A great bunch of people and all experiance levels are welcome. And it's free other that your camping or cabin fees.

Chris, I am in Greenville NC and have taught quite a few people the basics. As a former art teacher I can give you some lessons or just let ya have at it if you would like... If you are close to Greenvile and would like to try the craft, let me know... I dont know what kind of knives you are interested in making but I do mostly stock removal fixed and folders with a modern flair...

As long as you contribute, learn and help clean up you are welcome..

especially if you clean!

My last Shop Sweeper got a promotion to Screw Finder and has been slacking off ever since...

That sounds great, I appreciate it. I actually live fairly close to Greenville. My wife teaches at a near by High School. I will be in Greenville on Oct 4th for an appointment with my Orthopedic Surgeon. I'm over due for my second hip replacement, but I can sweep with the best of them.
