Hey,
BM 705 is one of my all time favorite knives and my most carried EDC. Is there any word about an improved steel or different handle material in the works? S30v, D2, Carbon fiber? I would jump all over it. I know there was a special BF model. Any one got pics, or a spare;) Thanks, Josh

There are at least two that I know of: the 705-02 and the 705BW.

The 705BW:

Blade material: D2 tool steel
Blade length: 2.95" (7.50cm) thickness: 0.10" (2.54mm)
OAL open: 6.75" (17.15cm) closed: 3.80" (9.65cm)
Weight: to be anounced
Handle: grey anodized aluminum with Bubinga wood inserts
Double 410 stainless steel full liners
Axis lock

The 705-02:

Much the same as above, but with G-10 inserts, and probably a coated blade.

Oh yeah. There was the Benchmade forum knife also.

The 705BW info that I know is: This limited edition was recently announced (mid May) by one of the major wholesalers that deals in Benchmade knives. The knife is due to ship from Benchmade on December 28th of this year. The blade is polished D2 tool steel, the handles are grey anodized aluminum, and the inserts are Bubinga wood. Only 200 knives will be made, and the blades will be laser engraved as a limited edition.

The 705-02 info that I know: These are as yet unavailable, but perhaps we’ll see these in June.
MSRP for the 710/705 will be $180/170.
Limited to 500 pieces each.
