Hi,
Does anyone have an update on what Ernie brought and sold at the Shot Show?
Best wishes,
Oliver

I am told, by a buddy that attended the show, that there were no Customs.

Which makes sense if you think about it. The SHOT Show is aimed at dealers (a trade show), not the public.

Oliver, there was something "new" on the Emerson table I'm told . . . .

The PSARK

Also on the table was the Mini-Seven, Waved Seven, WWR and NASA knife. I'm also told there was "Mini-Commander" talk.

The 'PSARK' is definitely something I'd put on my list of purchases. I prefer the name someone else came up with though.. 'SHARK'

A question about the PSARK.. on the handles, are the g-10 cut to match the liners like on the SOCFK? In this picture it doesn't appear so. Just curious because I thought that was a nice touch on the SOCFK.

I was there and Derek and Shawn were busy all the time. But, they always found time to talk with the enthusiasts. Two great guys who love their work. Derek did confirmed the upcoming mini-Commander. There was a lot of interest as always. Ernie and Mary did not attend.

There were no customs.White Water Rescue, Mini CQC7, CQC7 W/Wave, Serch and Rescue with sharpend tip, and not a Mini Commander in site. The Show was great. But it was hard work for me. But when I got the second to sneek away I went over to Emersons booth to bug Shaun and Derek. As usual them helped me with everthing that I needed.

P.s no Skull clips there eather.

Can anyone provide info on this "NASA" knife:

What is the purpose of the cut-out on the front bevel? TIA.

Brian,

That's the NASA knife (as is evident by the logo). It's a contract knife for the Space Station crews. There was a nice piece on it and the SARK in a resent Blade Magazine.

Basically the scallop in the nose is used for opening meal packages. The space program meals are packed in a heavy guage plastic bag and are evidently a pain to open. The tip is used to puncture the bag and the notch in the blade is used to zip it open.

Looks kind of silly, but the up side is that our Astronauts also get a nice work knife out of the deal.

The NASA knife will be available to the public, however the public version will not have the NASA logo.

John,When Steve at Extreme was taking orders for the SARK and NASA, I could have sworn he said he would have some with the logos.I may be wrong but that's why I wanted one.
Gotta have a NASA SPECWAR with the LOGO!!!

I don't recall where I got that tidbit of info from. I did a search here on the forums, but can't seem to find it.

As I recall, there was an issue with NASA allowing companies to use the NASA logo on products directed at the public.

I had mentioned before hoping that logoed ones would show up in the Nasa logo store, as it's right up the road from me.

Now your making me doubt myself.

Thanks, John. I appreciate the info. Frankly, it looked something like what might happen if the blade made contact with a live wire. ;-) Just kidding, I knew it was purpose-built but couldn't figure out the purpose.
