any news on the Izula scales? pics?

It really is going to be fun the next few weeks to see all the new goodies that get lauched at SHOT!!!

I made some blue denum and orange canvas DIY micarta this week end for my Izula but did not have a chance to complete. I will post pics when completed.

Is anyone out there making wooden Izula scales? I thought I read a thread a couple months back about a forum member making them for sale on a limited basis.

i think you are referring to Philip Dobson. to the best of my knowledge he makes custom wooden scales for numerous knives.

Phillips work. I really like this knife. The handles make it so comfortable. I think I have posted this image 3 times just in the last couple of weeks. Enjoy.

I'm sure RAT's handles will be great also.

EDIT: Just seen the picture. They are very nice. I look forward to purchasing another Izula just to have the RAT handle.

After reading about the system RAT uses to custom fit their scales to the blades, I have to think the Izula scales might not fit flush with all the knives. The won't be flush will they?

Izula with scales would be sweet (and the one above with wooden scales looks beautiful), but it kind of defeats the purpose of a small neck knife doesn't it.

well it's still small :). But it opens it up for other ways of using. the grip means you would be able to have a better grip while using and thus stronger handling.

Exactly what Deacon said. Unless you add really extravagant scales. I can't imagine any scales that won't change the image of an Izula. I think the Micarta scales would really fit the Izula though, and I'd put them on it if I don't 'need' the small version.

I'm thinking the same thing. The minimalist feel is part of it's charm. Add scales and it's "just another knife".

well i carry it around my neck and on my belt. the scales would be great when i belt carry it.
