Hung,

I was there multiple times.

Do you need any place to go to?

Other than the usual Tanah Lot, Mother of all Temple- Besakih worship across Mount Agung, you might want to stop by Double 6 in Kuta for amazing beach.
Jimbaran for amazing seafood at 4 season hotel.

You may also try the spicy ayam betutu (chicken/duck with extra spicy sauce), soto ayam (thick chicken soup) or the famed babi guling ( charbroiled pig with excellent skin) in Ibud.

If you fancy to spot dolphins, check out Lovina.

Anantara is an excellent place for a day or two stay. Warning, kinda pricey.

:)

Hi Jay,

Couldnt wrote to you earlier as I'm just back lately.

I & my wife stayed there for one week and we visited all of your recommended place & dishes.

Just go out to town, catch a taxi and bargain for a day trip. Nice deal though.

It was bad weather somedays and spoiled our view on Tanah Lot. The Besakih is really great. I also love the twin lake on the way back from Lovina beach. Temperature there was really nice. Wood carvings in Ubud is also nice. We shopped a lot! :)

It was an interesting trip ever! We stayed at Nandini Jungle resort which is ~10km away from Ubud. Always a good recommendation for you all.

I also bought back some green-core hibiscus block and some elbony. Nice handle project to come.

All the best!

Ahh Bali! I'm not much of a traveler, but I reckon that's one place I'd actually like to see... and hear... I like gamelan gong kebyar!

Graves,

You will definitely enjoy the KECAK session.

I've only been able to experience that via audio recordings and video footage, alas!

TJAK TJAK TJAK!

We got the advertisements for this but havent got time to see.

I also heard of a trance dance but not sure if it's the same with the Kecaf dance.

I think the trance dance was a precursor to the modern kecak from the sources I've come across. Kecak as we know it today come about in the 1930's if I'm not mistaken, and drew from the earlier trance dance.
