I am dying to get a BK16 SOOOOO bad and I just know that when they're released I won't have any money and they'll sell out in like 9-1/2 mins and I'll be screwed for another god knows how long, lol. It seems like there are a couple of members who have the hook up and I just want to try a bit of edc'ing with one for a week or something so I thought I'd ask my fellow brethren to throw me a bone: I'd be willing to send something in return for you to try too. Thanks

I would also like this (Passaround tweener anyone?), but sadly or maybe happily it seems that pretty much everyone that has one likes it so much that they are hoarding them.

I know they're coming sometime, but right now its feeling a bit like a mean inside joke, where some people get to play with protos or early production stuff while the rest of us get to watch through the glass door that is the internet and just wonder why we didn't get included...

Luckly I have TONS of school work to keep me busy, which I think is the only thing keeping me sane right now.

trying to get some passaround / contest models of all the new stuff. tricky :)

as for protos, well... you know. perk of the job? :>

Protos I can see being tight fisted with, but with production in swing I wouldn't think a couple production ones on limited pass-arounds would hurt anything.

What job is this you speak of? I'm looking for work so hire me and give me a tweener:D What are you Ethan's plumber or something?;)

You've seen pulp fiction right???

working on it.

those guys at KaBar are BUSY. success hurts :)

how many other knife companies provide the swag they do to us, the loyal? not many. not many at all :D

Ha. One o them better be busy getting their scuba suit on to go kraken hunting for my machax sheath. :D

I'm not in that big of a hurry for the tweeners, They actually seem to come with a pretty decent sheath so I won't expect as much of a demand there as for the others.

get in line, get in line :)

it's a VERY nice sheath. the only thing that would make the kabar sheaths better? overall? if someone figured out how to make a flocked like sheath liner insert ;) like the old eagle sheaths.

snugs up the blade, and quiets it the hell down. i'm sure a couple strips of kevlar or something might do a trick. mmm... or VERY thin leather...

i was thinking something not even terribly wide, with self-adhesive on one side, perhaps fairly stiff plastic strip with material on one side for quietness, and you can drop that into the sheath all the way in, sliding along the other side, then slip a ruler in there, and push to mounting side with some pressure. voila. might try that. BK9 sheaths rattles a bit.

course, if someone also just sold replacement inserts, ready to go, that would be interesting too. they could even be leather with a kydex "U" at the edge side. mmm.

Lol that was a valiant try to get some tweener handling in. I'm with you on it though, I think about when I'll finally get the 16 in my hands a couple dozen times a day, I'm practically already planning out day hikes and vacations around it (see my Beckerhead Sig for evidence).

there are apparently VERY few of these early things floating around. it's just due to REALLY good, outstanding, beyond the norm industry access, that we can get some access early. as far as i know, most of the ones you've seen are essentially one offs, so there isn't yet some secret hoard. don't worry though, these will not sell out, not ever. they're going to make metric butt loads of these.

i've said it before, i'll say it again, but we have UNUSUALLY good access to the top people involved with this product, and they're super generous in getting us information earlier, pictures, examples, SOMETIMES pass-around, etc. working hard to get product information to YOU. not many companies do this. many in fact, do exactly the opposite, and keep very sneaky quiet (apple anyone?)... hell, they have lawsuits if you leak information.

we're very fortunate here, and while i know we're all enthusiastic, and want our stuff now, y'all have to be more patient and whine less ;) enjoy what we can get you, when we get it. you are the privileged amongst the community and we like it that way :D

Word Bladite. I definitely feel lucky to now be a part of this group, I've never seen such positive interaction between a company and their loyal customers before. It's a very happy symbiotic relationship.

That's true, I'm pretty new to the group but it seems like we get a lot of info, etc from the co. and the big dogs like you(Bladite) and Moose which is nice and greatly appreciated. I can't think of an other knife maker be it custom or production who does the same.
