Any one carry a laguiole

Very usable pattern. The only one I ever owned wasn't a top shelf work of art but was a good user around the home and office. Hopefully one of the experts will weigh in with some of the better brands.

I have a Laguiole Fontenille Pataud in carbon steel and boxwood and it's my dress slippie, weddings, things like that :)
There are loads of laguioles from china or pakistan flying around, if you want the real deal,
have a look for these brands:

forge de laguiole
fontenille pataud (gilles - think he's here on the forum)
laguiole de l'artisan
laguiole en aubrac

there are some more, but these are definetly some great knifes.

nothing better than to open a nice bottle of wine with a laguiole :)

I have a few by Jean Dubost, not the best but not bad either, it's what I have found in Mexico.

Picture shows two in horn, knife and waiter's corkscrew, I also have in wood and in plastic.

I have a 12cm Laguiole de l'Artisan in amourette (snakewood) and 12C27, with brass bolsters. Very nice knife, and I use it at my dinner table regularly.

You've got to be real careful buying these from our favorite auction site. There are a lot of ripoffs of these knives out there.

I like the work Gile's company does of what I have seen up close.
Surfer and Blue Sky posted the info and links. Giles is also a good guy to work with and get to know.
