I've been a subscriber for many years and all of a sudden they stopped showing up, I renewed my subscription like always, but it took them almost 4 months to cash my check, I've emailed them to no avail, and all of a sudden it showed up in the mail with no explanation.

Any one else finally get theirs?

Hey Erdelyi,I am not a subscriber but I always buy every copy,if you could please tell me,in the it "happened to me" in the back of the book I wrote a story, can you please tell me who the author is as I have not seen the mag yet?

Yo, T.--which issue is it? The latest one I have is July, should I be expecting one soon? I never keep track of these things...

ZG the issue I just got was the September issue, and marsupial, the writer and title of the story are, Ryan Anderson, "To build a fire".

I love this mag, it has to be one of the more realistic mags out there.

My daughter gave me gift subscription for Christmas, but the first issue to appear this year was last month's. Just a little slow. geegee

Just got my September issue today (6/30), only 5 weeks after T. got his, and I've been a continuous subscriber since '96.

Maybe the boat got lost on the way to Hawaii? or it disappeared into a temporal vortex and just showed up:)

What ever the reason it did get there.

I emailed Tactical Knives and the emailed me back within 2 days, my issue showed up soon after.

I thought our Barnes & Noble stopped carrying it because the new issue came out like 3 weeks ago and they just now put it out on the shelf. Good magazine but crappy distribution. It's because of this I won't subscribe, I've heard too many bad things and if they can't even get their mag to a nationwide bookstore on time, something's wrong.

Oh yeah, Vermont only has 1 Barnes & Noble and they're the only store who carries Tactical Knives. Dick's Sporting goods used to, but they stopped.

Been a subscriber since issue #2. Got mine right on time. Sometimes they come in torn so I call the "800" number on the publisher page and the lady sends me a new one in an envelope. You should ask for an undamaged one every time you get a bad one so they will track what is happening and put them in a baggie.

I've done that a couple of times, but the funny thing is that the worst one that I have ever received was one that showed up in a "baggie." The baggie was untouched/untorn, but the mag had slices all over the place (I guess someone needed to test out their knife before shipping.

Their service is spotty to say the least. Some people get their issues very regularly, some people get their subscriptions started with ease, etc... but some people have to raise bloody hell to even get a response out of 'em.

I'm in with those in the latter group. I will not be renewing my subscription, and at $7.00 an issue (!) I will not be buying single copies either. I might thumb through it in the bookstore, but that's it.

After subscribing for two years I finally gave up and let my subscription lapse. I got sick and tired of receiving my magazines late or not at all. it was frustrating to see them on the bookshelves weeks before receiving them in the mail. When they did arrve, they looked like they had had been through a shredder !!

I can't even find that mag in any Borders or Barnes and Noble around me. I think a Kroger not too far from me had it once, but I haven't seen it since.

Very poor distribution, as I see Blades magazine everywhere...

I used to subscribe, but TK's sub. service is dismal. I usually buy the issue at the local chain bookstore.

On a side note: magazine distribution, especially to chain book stores is usually handled by a third party magazine distribution service; the actual magazine publisher does not send the magazines to the stores. Each store should have a Periodical Buyer; the person who's in charge of what magazines the store carries. If you can't find TK, or another magazine, talk to the Buyer, and see if the store will carry the magazine.
