I've been catching it alot this week driving to work (4am) .Its a AM radio "talk show" station up north that people call into and talk about UFOs and monsters etc. :D Man there is some pretty f--ked up people in this world. The host just goes along with all of their BS and acts like he believes them. A women called in Monday and said she was once a time traveler from 2053 ....suuure you are.
Guy called in said he was a werwolf(sp?) anyone else ever listen in?

It's on many am stations and on sat and sunday night you can hear Art Bell who started that show.He continued the type of programing [weird !]started by Barry Grey and a few others many years ago. Yes that might make interesting listening for a long night time drive.

It was more interesting when Art was still the host. Helped me through the grave yard shift from time to time.

Yes I remember, the same people that have an organization to spot jet contrails in the sky, as they say it's a government plot to poison us with the chemicals hidden in them.

They had people all over the country reporting them. :barf:

I've listened for about nine years. I used to listen more than I do now. I usually only listen on my bedside radio, and I usually turn the radio off before I fall asleep, so I generally only catch about a half hour of the show, maybe an hour if I'm really interested in the topic or guest. For some reason I could fall asleep to Art Bell's voice, but George keeps me awake. I prefer Art as a host, and I think the overall quality of the show has gone down, even when Art hosts on weekends. George's use of call screeners and the reduction of the broadcast time from five to four hours both take away from the feeling I used to get from listening to the program.

I hate to tell you this, Mike, but Zapatopi is a parody site. There really are people who think like that, but that particular site is a joke.

I particularly like http://zapatopi.net/belgium.html , in which it is revealed that there really is no country named "Belgium", it's just a big conspiracy.

I've never heard Art Bell's show, but as a frequent reader of Skeptical Inquirer http://www.csicop.org/si/ I'm familiar with the kind of stuff displayed therein.

When I was in College, 1999-2003, I worked security 3rd shift and used to listen to it all the time, it kept me awake. I think George Noory and his guests are hilarious, what a bunch of liars, attention seekers, people in need of professional help, and assorted whackos. When I can I still try to catch it. Every once in a while George would have legitamite scientists on and ask them the most outlandish questions. Here is the link to the web site http://www.coasttocoastam.com/.
:D

Here in Alaska it comes on at 9:00 PM.I work in my studio until midnight. I have listened to Coast off and on for the last 9 or 10 years. George is to new age for me. I turn him off most of the time. A bout once or twice a week you get a really fascinating show with legitimate science. I caught part of the show the other day where the guy was telling how to make plasma balls in your microwave with a lit match.
I really think that Art does not believe most of the wako guests but plays along with them and it makes for entertaining radio.
I once called Art when he had a show on cloning. I had been flying out to remote locations hunting for frozen ice age meat samples fo a documentary on cloning. Art was fascinated so I sent him a photo of my self with a truck load of mammoth tusks. Art put the photo up on his site and ii received some truly amazing the emails .One guy gave me a hard time for selling mammoth tusks as these magnificent animals had to be killed for this ivory. I emailed him back and told him that we did not kill them but that we kept them in pens and harvested their tusks as the grew every year. I did not hear from him again

Akivory, that's very funny !!....The other name has come to me , Long John Nebel. He had a radio program out of NYC many years ago , Barry Grey I think was from Phila. Both of whom Art Bell probably heard as a youngster in NJ.Both had weird , middle of the nught programs.

I used to listen back when Art was doing it full time. Lots of fun stuff...Immortals, Vampires, Contrails, Whitley Strieber(sp?). When Art took his break, I quit listening.

I used to listen to Art Bell every once in a while during the mid-1990s, if I woke up in the middle of the night. It was pretty entertaining. Everything I know about chupacabras I learned from that show...:D

There are a couple of episodes that I wish I could hear again. I was half-asleep and foggy, but one had something to do with some dude's theory about the speed of light being wrong. There was also one about an unorthodox launch mechanism for spacecraft that a Russian guy invented, but couldn't get funded.
