Well it's 1200 grit 12" long and I'll be using it for my recurve blades (ZT0200 crkt summa ect),

Thanks!

*EDIT*
Yes I do know the difference between a hone and a sharpening rod just made a mistake in the title......

I have a white Edge Pro hone with a wood handle. Is that the one you are asking about? It works really well. I use it for quick touch-ups. You should be able to use it for recurves with a little practice.

Good sharpening,
Dave

They are a very good product. I have a couple of them. Not from Edge Pro proper but the same manufacturer. You might want to go over it with a Scotchbrite pad and some kitchen cleaner before you use it.

I was gonna get one separately (I bought the EPkit1 and purchased my own stones)... I chose to just use my Extra Fine Sharpmaker stones as a freestanding hone instead, mainly because it has a higher grit than the Edgepro's and also just to save myself from one more gadget that does the same thing. Of course, the Edgepro's has a more desirable length (in fact, I was looking at a longer version) but I really just hone my pocket knives this way so I'm alright.

So I could hone directly on the SM, or I can freestand the stones (drawing the blade horizontal to straighten the edge, etc.). If you dont have a SM, you could buy one XF stone for around 15 bucks. Just a suggestion, I'm sure the EP hone works well also. I'm no sharpening pro, just offering my experience, I don't need people to quote me here on this subforum.

Thanks guys!
I think I'm gonna get one (not rite now ill buy one later on in the month ((a sharp maker to(that's right parentheses inside parentheses inside parentheses inside parentheses) (your mind must be blow))...lol

Thanks again and good night!

Sorry to be so picky, but you forgot to close the second parentheses, and start the last one.

Blessings,

007, Yeah I think I use parentheses too much. Just a habit, I'll work on that. :o
