I would like and learn how to make my own knife. I got no idea what im doing. But no one ever said i dont work hard. Is there anyone in the Los Angeles area that would be willing to guide me????

You might want to check out the California Knifemakers Association the meetings are in the LA area and many of members are located in the area.

I was out there for just over a year, ditto frogfish's post. If you dont mind driving to Acton, Bill Herndon has hammer ins out there fairly often (or he did when i was there). You would be hard pressed to find a more enthusiastic group to teach you.
