Any opinions on Bolo vs BWM LE?

Haven't had a chance to take either out or beat on them, as an overall big knife for the outdoors does anyone have any comparisons or general thoughts on 'em?

Likely will be paired with the SAR 3 below.

And just because I want to include some of the blades for visual purposes...

Well, the BWM handle is very comfortable for me, and was reported to be the same for lots of users. The "Ergo" handle on the Bolo?

Notsomuch.

+1  for the BWM-LE... VERY comfy, for me also.

Never held a Bolo but have read the same...

Edit: Great knives you've got there!

I do like the feel of the old ergo handles. Although I have never actually chopped anything with them.

Ditto for the BWM handles. Feel great in the hand, but I have never chopped anything.

Either way, really great knives there.

I've used an Aftershock Bolo for my primary chopper for a while, like 5 years, it's my favorite. I really like the ergo handles.

I have a BWM, CG not LE, I haven't chopped with it, played with it a lot. For me the swell in the middle of the handle isn't comfortable, I feel that way about the TACs too.

When the FBM's ( I know this is a BWM discussion) first came out, I used one exclusively for the summer, it's a beast. I was rearranging things one day and picked up the now neglected AB, it felt so good in my hand, I put the FBM away and put the AB back on. It was like shaking hands with an old friend.

I wear a medium glove, my hands are on the small side, with the Ergo handle I can always get a comfortable secure grip. On the BWM I struggle to find a good grip and it feels like there will be a hot spot on my palm between the second and third finger at the swell around the center fastener. I can really only find one grip position that feels comfortable and secure. Not sure how that would play out for me on an afternoon of chopping. I've never gotten a blister from the AB.

The BWM gets great reviews, so it may just be more a function of hand size and technique than design. I thought about modifying the BWM handle, for about 2 seconds, I already have something that works for me.

Find out what works for you.

My $0.02

Nice knives, you wouldn't be under knifed with either choice. Satin/Black paper is one of my favorite combos.

AB LE #87   I've got #86 & a CG  The CG is my user.

I find hte E-series handles to be the ugliest thing since sliced bread. And because of it, I don't even own one now. But definitely the most comfortable handle. (Don't ask why I sell knives that I like but don't like looking at. I have no idea.)
