I just ordered a birthday present for myself, the DPX HEAT/F with the full 3D titanium handle slabs and Niolox blade. I haven't been able to find much discussion of it, even less than of Sleipner. But since, I ordered a Niolox blade and not a Sleipner, I figured, I'd ask about the former. How does it compare to Elmax? VG-10? or S35VN? Or AUS-8?

Niolox appears to have similar properties to D2 but is much more corrosion resistant. I carry the exact some knife from time to time and I love it. For the thickness of the blade, it slices very very well! You will not be disappointed!

I have a DPX HEFT 4 coming in the mail today, I searched a bit and could find very little information about Niolox.

Edge holding similar to D2 but tougher, better corrosion resistance and finer grain....So in my opinion superior in every way.
I've been carrying a Niolox blade every day for the past 6 months and I've grown very fond of the steel.

I bought the same folder. Very nice little knife. I'm really tired of slab sided ti framelocks so the 3D sculpturing is a welcome change. I figured Niolox was an improvement on D2 so, what's not to like?

Yeah, I'm pretty excited to try the 3D milled slabs. I have a bunch of CRK's, which I dearly love, but it's nice to try new things.

Have the T3 and assault II in niolox. Great steel hold edge very well. Not to bad to sharpen up either

Nylocs?

I use them all the time on vibrating equipment, much better then lock washers.

What?   Niolox?.... OH, :o ...never mind. :foot:

Pretty close to VG-10 in performance apparently. I think it's made in Austria by Uddeholm .

You're welcome. Not really well known...only reason I know is because the guy I buy steel from works there.
