Just curious if anyone has 1 and how CPM3V steel is as far as edge holding and staining/rust.. I would also like to know if it will strike a firesteel with its spine.

A firesteel will spark on any reasonably rough or sharp edge.

True flint is another story.

I have a Necker 2 and really like it. Easy to carry. Reasonably comfortable for the size and nice edge geometry.

Mine isn't in 3V but I have a few knives in that steel. I've found that I haven't had a problem with rust, possibly because of how I take care of it and the fact that the blade texture isn't stonewashed leaving lots of tiny spots for rust to form.

As for edge holding, my 3V knives impress me greatly. A big step up over O1, 1095 and AUS8.
