Any opinions on the Leatherman Squirt P4?

Hi All,

Does anyone have any opinions on the Squirt? I was looking to get a small knife for EDC and then saw one of these at Gander Mountain. Does anyone carry one of these daily? Is it too big or heavy to have in your pocket all day? Is it useful? I currently just carry an Arc AAA LED and thought this would be a good compliment.

Thanks,
Robert

I use to carry one everyday. The thing is so small I would snap it onto my keychain with one of those quick release devices. Its like 2.25 inches closed I think, so it is very suitable for EDC and its not heavy at all. The knife blade also comes surprisingly sharp. I found the awl to have many uses and the wire cutters worked great for something so small (I cut through a metal close hanger with it and it didn't phase it a bit). The pliers are also very handy as long as your not trying to do any big jobs with them. The screwdrivers also work well as I put them to so pretty tough jobs and it didn't bend them or anything. IMHO I would say its one of the best mini multi-tools on the market today.

Every keychain should have a Squirt on it.

The Leatherman Squirt P4 is real cute looking - and pretty good for a small pair of folding pliers.......

BUT -
all the other tools are a bit small (for me) and the knife blade is barely adequate - and IMHO canNOT really be seriously regarded as a knife.

Although the Leatherman squirt P4 looks sturdy - the pliers doesn't look much tougher than the pliers on the Victorinox SAKs - in fact I'd hazard the SAK pliers may be more durable - and since the current most compact SAK with pliers is the Mechanic that can be found for about $20 - the P4 may not be such a bargain, but it is cute......

If you are wanting a small Leatherman, I would recommend going with one in the "Juice" series. They are just a bit larger and are capable of doing more work. Still very pocket friendly. But then again, so are the Victorinox... ;)

I second the "Juice". Only a little bigger and much more functional pliers.
The SAK mechanic is a good deal and cheaper if you can live with the smaller pliers.
