Any opinions on this milling machine

Unless you really need the power feed and the DRO, I would do without those features and spend the money on a better basic machine. You can always add those later but upgrading the whole machine would be costly. I have a Jet and am entirely satisfied with it. I wanted a Bridgeport also but they are very expensive.

I have that machine and I think for the money you cant beat it, To me a vertical DRO is a must have. Same with the power feed

The DRO is a must with a table top model. The power feed is handy for long projects. I say its a good deal considering the DRO kit alone costs about $1000 and the power feed kit is $250

You need a good vice and colletts too.

Wil, The next time you come to my shop....stop by and see these guys:

http://www.industrialmachinery.com/

They are a used machinery dealer that is only a mile or two away.

In that price range, I think you could find a decent used Bridgeport with a DRO. It just depends on what they have on the floor when you stop in. They are a dealer... don't accept what's listed on the price tag. Make a rediculous offer with cash if you see something that you like....also, don't hestitate to have them power it up while you're there.

They are good folks and have gotten the mojority of my retirement fund. (hee hee)
