Any other clips fit the para 2?

So I love my new para 2 but I hate the satin clip. I really don't want to pay 8$ for a clip from spyderco if another company clip will fit. I also don't have a torx driver and won't buy one unless I need it, if I have to pay for the clip I'll just deal with the satin clip. Do any kershaw or benchmade clips fit?

I don't know of any other production clips that do fit, aside from Spyderco clips. Obviously, there are better clips out there - like Steve's (STR) deep carry clip, but that will run you more than $8.

I mean if I got to buy it I'll mod my own satin clip to make it not so noticeable I just don't like that pretty much every other company gives a free replacement clip besides spyderco.

I too wish my satin clips were black and was the standard. I've considered darkening mine.

have you tried contacting Spyderco , I personally understand what your saying about other companies and maybe my rationale is a little bias, but I wouldn't put up a sign offering free clips. I just recently received some screws and a clip from another brand for free.(SEE NOTE) First time request. I have been collecting their knives for several years. I assume I am not entitled to all the free screws and clips I request. Some folks may not be that considerate. I can't say for sure you will be accommodated but its a free call. If you can make your own clip , then modding the standard P2 clip to be not so noticeable should be a breeze. Unless your going deep carry.

NOTE: The clip I got was actually an updated clip. The original was Ti and a bad design.

That's just silly, you need them man, as a knife person a set of torx drivers is absolutely requires for routine care/maintenance.
You have a $120+ knife but don't want to buy $10 worth of torx drivers (craftsman drivers are ~$5/each) you could get by with a T6 & T9 to do most of your knife care (adjusting the pivot [T9] & swapping clip positions[T6]).

About the clip, USAknifemaker sells a few different styles of deep-carry clips that are similar to STR's (and the same material) but a fraction of the price. Highly recommended.

BTW if you have one a Rat-2 clip will fit and is black (but the larger Rat-1 clip is a benchmade hole pattern)

Another option (but its super expensive at $8.95 shipped) would be the black clip off a Gayle Bradley.

I had a torx set but just after time it got twisted. Actually happened to 2 of those husky drivers I haven't bought a new one because I'm not wasting my money on them and looking for a better quality. Idk why I really said that honestly it had no relevance.

Regarding Torx: get Wiha. No more stripped heads, no more bent drivers.

This. I've taken pivot-screws out that I swore were welded in and nothing got stripped. I need to pick up a few more Wiha drivers to complete my set actually...

Wiha is good stuff. You can get individual drivers on that big auction site for really low prices.

Oh, and on the clip. I'm not sure, I will be able to try tomorrow night... will Benchmade's 3 hole pattern fit the same as Spyderco's?

As far as aftermarket clips, "theoriginalspaceman" here on BF in the Gadgets and Gear section makes really nice lowride Titanium clips that fit the Spyderco 3 hole pattern. I have a couple, and while they are more than your budget offers, they are definitely worth it.

I have to Husky sets from Home Depot that were 4.99 and they have been great. IDK>
Same here.
And here.

I've been using my Husky HD-74502-T set for at least nine years, must have removed the clips from a couple dozen Spydercos and taken a couple completely apart with it and used it for other things as well and I've yet to damage a screw or any of the drivers.

I believe Manix 2 clips are the same...
AFAIK, the PM2 clip has the same hole pattern as the 3 hole clips used on the majority of Spyderco folders for the past 5 years or more. However, the OP would have to pay for any of them. Think what he's actually looking for is a company that gives replacement clips out free, so he can cheat them out of a clip.

Bingo!

I have a bag full of those clips shiny, black painted, Taiwan black, hole, no hole, different lengths etc. I have thought about selling them on here or just giving them away so long as shipping is paid to me, but never have. Doesn't seem like people actually want to pay for a clip:rolleyes:

nccole , Put them up for sale if you have no use for them. Cover your costs .Its best you find them a new home. Down the road someone else might decide they are fodder for the landfill. Our treasures may be another mans trash.
