Any other Fallen Oak Forge owners here?

I know he's big on AR15.com and a few other forums, but was wondering if there were any other fellow owners here?

Ben at FOF hand grinds the blades, does differential heat treating, and creates the micarta handles from scratch. He's one of the nicest and easiest guys to work with, and his rustic and artistic yet made for hard use style has become an addiction for me. Here's a picture of my "Spartan", and hopefully in a couple weeks I'll have another one of his blades in my hand that is a mix of a traditional tanto and a modern fighting knife.

11.75 inches of 1/4" 5160 steel with a differential heat treat and red and black hourglass micarta, all hand made by Ben. I don't think one could get 5160 any sharper than he does, and it holds it's edge very well. Here's his facebook page with pictures of lots of his work. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fallen-Oak-Forge/178097558969953?fref=ts

Ben is a great guy. I have one of his smaller knives. His work he shows on ar15 made me want to get into knife making. I really like the different micarta handles he does too.

I like his style. Without ever holding one in hand, I wonder about the weight with that much 1/4" steel. But I've seen his stuff on Etsy and dig his designs.

It's a chopper no doubt. I have a cutting board that can attest for that! For how big it is it's actually quite a bit more manageable than I would have expected, balancing about 2 inches out from the handle. I needed a big knife for my collection, and this one fit the bill. My next blade is a 5.5" with a modern yet traditional twist I haven't really seen anywhere else. It will be my regular use knife and should be much more practical. He has some designs that are pretty out there, but most of his grinds are pretty practical. In all cases, he builds a knife to be used for sure. If you told me to chop down a house, no doubts I'd grab my Spartan, LOL.
