I think I'm becoming slightly addicted to egg nog & bourbon or egg nog & whiskey. I just knocked back a couple and am thinking of a third. At 8 grams of fat per serving, I may have to break out the stretchy pants for January.

Not a fan of the nog.....but hey its the holidays go crazy...Cheers (I am clinking my Coors light bottle to you)

im a fan. i would probably use rum instead of whisky.

i might be the only non-scotch/whiskey drinker in this room

I can hear your arteries hardening all the way over here in Tulsa!

Besides, isn't it more of a rum drink?

For Gawds sake stop ruining good bourbon,,,,, str8 up an NO stretchies ,,,,,,,,,, roflmao :D

Ever since that Margarita recipe was posted here, I have had nothing else, LOL.
Well, not entirely true, it's red wine ATM (Cantina Zaccagnini).

I do like egg nog though, but I had this weird allergic reaction once where my skin went red and I had a hard time breathing. No egg drinks since then (the drink that caused it was a snowball).

That's probably the sodium benzoate, or some similar preservative. I have an allergy too. It's also in a lot of dried fruit products.

Watch out for "fresh" salsa's in the refrigerated section, they have a ton of it.

OK, but Alton doesn't buy "artificially flavored" stuff in a carton (at least when anyone is looking).
:)

It's better this way. My fear is that I'll continue to make it even when the seasonal offerings disappear from the local market.

It's no accident I had the Alton Brown recipe on hand.

Fan of the 'Nog here... Had 2 already... Loaded with a bit (more like a crap load) of the Captain (out of Bourbon which I prefer). Yes a third is a splendid idea!!

No nog here tonight :( but yep, I'm a fan. My family's recipe is a lot like Alton's, but we always used brandy instead of bourbon or rum. Yummy! :D
