I like the overall design of the knife, the nice folded steel blade, the wooden saya, etc, but I hate the blade shape. It's so tiny compared to the handle.

Any other knives like this out there? Custom or otherwise.

Thanks for the link! I've been by there once or twice, but this is the first time I've ever really taken a look. Nothing like that one there, but I did find some brilliant alternatives for really cheap. A lot of their customs are only like 400 there.

Or less. Some of the Saji's are a close alternative.

I like that folder from Mr. Itou - the traditional Higo-no-Kami folder. It's a different knife for sure.

I'm loving Hara's damascus tiny FBs. I might have to pick up one of them....but they really ought to come with a saya of some kind. Oh well, I can just have a sheath made.

What I'm particularly looking for is the matching wood tsuku and saya, that form that single piece when closed. I like a traditional tanto shape with some curvature, and some nicely folded steel, damascus, mokume (yes, I know it's not for blades, but I've seen some beautiful blades out of this)...you know, some flare.

I prefer something fairly small...maybe 4 inch blade or shorter...but I'm flexible on this.

I'm not sure if I'll pick one up at this moment, especially given some of the existing sweet Hara customs now on the list. But I definitely want to see some. Very beautiful.

Also digging the seki cut options.
