Heya Folks, looking to the lot of you for some advice on posting pictures. I have been a member of BladeForums for a bit, and have posted here and there, but have been limited by my inability to post pictures. I have read the thread on picture posting, but it only includes posting from a image hosting site. Does anybody have the instructions to post pictures from your home computer? Any help would be greatly appreciated................and get me moving towards becomming a Beckerhead.

As a free member, image hosting sites are your only option. I like photobucket because I can text them my pics if I want. I think as a paid member you get minimal online storage but not sure. Someone else would have to answer that. If you are tech savvy, you could host the image from your computer as a server, but it would have to be constantly running for the image to be available 24/7. There is a reason that image hosting sites are popular. They are the easiest way.

Upon further investigation of my "issue's", sems I am not allowed to post attachments. Anybody know how to fix this?

A gold membership costs $30 gives you attachments and PM's and helps support this great site!

On a similar note, how do you re-size pictures that are just too big? I wanted to post a couple of mine hosted using Blogger.

Irfanview is a small easy program to use. You can download it free at tucows.com
Might find something better there too. I have always just uses that though.

When you upload, they resize them. Or at least that's what happens to mine. My camera is taking some big pics, I just download, and upload.

Ah, teh majix of the interwebz.:D

see faq, which has pointer to step by step instructions

get a free photo hosting site, or pay for one

as people have said, going gold, or better is nice too

I'll post this here also since your asking the same question that Moose asked for you in the "Face behind the Becker" thread.
Hope this helps.

First go to your photostream in flickr.

Second go to the photo you want to share.

Third click on the "Share" menu just above your photo.

Fourth select the photo size you want and whether you want the HTML or BBC code (BBC is easiest to use since you can just paste it right into the forum)

Fifth paste the BBC code you copied from Flickr into the reply box on the forum. You can easily type any messages before or after the photo.

Below is the BBC code from the above example (I edited out a [ at the beginning of each line so the code would show up instead of the image)
Code:

Below is the image as it would appear by pasting the code into the reply box on the forum:

You only need the gold membership to post pictures if you want to host them on BladeForums.com. If you pictures are hosted on another site (like flickr or photobucket) you only need the code, not the membership. I'm just a free member, but since my pictures are hosted on Flickr, I'm able to post them by using the steps above.

Gold has it's advantages beyond images. And it's pretty inexpensive considering it lasts a year.

But still I use photobucket. It's pretty convenient and a lot of other places allow me to use it.
