Hi

I just got a "previously owned" :) classic large sebenza and absolutely love it. I can open it pretty well with the single thumblug but after playing with it obsessively for a couple of hours my thumb is kind of sore. I was wondering if others find the single lug a little challenging and also if the double lug makes it easier.

Anybody have experience comparing the single vs. the double? Any double lug owners out there have any pictures they care to post? I'd like to see how they are positioned.

Thanks
Lou

My experience with the double thumblugs is that they wear hard on the pockets. After wearing out a couple pairs of jeans in short order I decided that the single thumber is the way to go. The double thumblugs seem to be a little easier to open and they do give the knife a more balanced look. I guess if you want to carry in a belt pouch it won't be an issue but for pants carry I'd go with the single unless of course you can afford to buy new pants frequently. Your thumb will heal, pants don't.;)

Yeah the thumb is feeling a little better today. I think my Spyderco Delica is actually the blame for the soreness, trying to get the hang of flicking that thumbhole open.

Doesn't anybody have a picture of a double lug they'd like to share?

Thanks for the picture Matt. I like the look of it--balanced like Scott said.

I remember seeing a post showing a difference between the way CRK machined out the lockbar for double lugged models. Like, there was an old way they used to do it and a new way, one being less painful to the finger. Anyone have that pic or know what I'm talking about? I tried searching but no luck...

btw, I myself have a double lug Large regular Sebenza. Don't find I have any problems with the lug catching on my pockets or anything. I find it gives the knife a much more balanced appearance, plus, the extra functionality is great.
