Trying to find out what one looks like.
I have only seen pics of the plain edge.
i would like to see pics before i decide if i want one in serrated.
Regards,& thanks,Rick.

Just go ahead and get one. You will like. The Massad Ayoob is one of my all time top 10 Spyders of all time. I carry a serrated version with me sometimes if I think there may be a remote chance for any kind of trouble. Thank GOD I have never had to put it to the test. But I feel safer carrying it.

There are actually 3 Spyders that I just love in the serrated blade variation:
The Massad Ayoob
The Centofante II C-50
The JD Smith
All 3 are lightning fast to handle and all three fit my hand like a custom made Spyder.

You've made my decision on the Ayoob easier!
I've heard of problems with the military & para.
I like the bigger knife .
What's your opinion? How about the Ayoob any opinions?
Thanks alot for the pics & info regards,Rick.
Also thanks to JD Spydo!

I used to have one!!! I had 2 Masaad Ayoob knives: the folder and the fixed blade. Let me look and see if I still have any pix of them left.

Hey Rick, the Ayoob is a great knife and one that I think has more uses than self defense. I'll try and post you a pic of my se version when I get into work on Monday. If I were you I would get this knife as they are not getting too easy to obtain. If you don't like it you can always trade or sell it, as long as you didn't pay an arm and a leg for it. I paid about $70.00 for mine on ebay about 2 months ago. Hope this helps some and look for some pics early next week.

Well yes, the Ayoob is good for self defense, because the blade opens at a lower angle than most knives, and because of that, can open quicker. But that blade angle also makes normal cutting activies almost effortless. I carry one daily, and I personally think it's great.

the ayoob is ok i edc'd one for a while, have had a SE and a PE, i kinda like the SE, its works fine for utility, imho its the easiest knife for a righty to open lefty i have ever seen because the angle it opens to decreases the movement neccesary to open, if that makes sense lol.

i like them, dont know if a police isnt better though, in any case i thought they were similar.

one bud thought the ayoob (boo ya in reverse) looked too much like a filet knife, ya know, for cleaning fish. lol.

OK Rick, here is the pic of my se Ayoob. As you can see, mine has a few marks on the handle. In a way I'm glad as I don't feel too hesitant to use it. I really like this unique knife. Hope this helps.

Has anyone else noticed color variation in the Almite? I've handled Ayoobs whose Almite was without a doubt black, but the one in I carry looks more blue than black.

Anyone else notice that, or I'm just losing my eyesight?;)

In my opinion, the Ayoob knife is a purely a self defense knife.

Nah, the Ayoob Spydie is OK as a regular knife.

Now the MOD Ayoob fixed blade, that's pretty much a pure people sticker.:D
