Hey all,

I have checked out the threads with the pics of the new AG Russel knives and they are really something. I want all 3 of them. I think each one of them would work great out in the field on hunting trips.

The pics you all have posted are great, but you really can't tell the true scale of them. That's why I would like to see someone post pics of all 3 of these knives both open and closed in the hand. That way we can tell what we would be getting ourselves into if we buy them.

They really are really great looking knives......

Thanks for your time.

Here are a few comparision shots showing the folding hunter with some knives that are more familiar to get a sense of how big it is.

some GEC knives are dwarfed by it, even the fairly large Ben Hogan

almost as big as a 7" Randall Model 1, bigger than a Buck 110 and Spyderco Military, both considered fairly large folders.

the Case trapper amd Cheetah are significantly smaller

two Canal Street cannitlers, a forum knife and one in buffalo horn, a Camillius TL29 and a Case Peanut are not even close

Nice shots, Arathol. Excellent comparison.

I have these knives (large AGR Hunters), and it still stuns me to see how big they are, especially when put side-by-side with some other, previously-assumed to be BIG knives, like the Military and the 110.

And the 'peanut' looks (appropriately) like a light snack for it. :p

Wow!!...the AG's are real big!! its great to see the knife next to GEC's and the Randall to get a real-life comparison-

Man that hunter is a monster.

I can help on some pictures of the gunstock. Compared to a Spyderco Endura and a Kershaw Groove...

The gunstock is the shortest end to end and the narrowest top to bottom but it’s the thickest across the spine. The Endura with its smooth stainless handle slabs is a knife that really feels all of a piece to me, as much as a folder can, and I have the same sense about the gunstock. It just feels extremely solid.

Hope these pics provide some of the perspective you’re looking for.

Ash,

The Hunter is Big. It weighs 6.8 ounces.

AGR's Boat Anchor is the TX Ranger 2010. AGR says it is designed after the English Rope Knife (Sunfish Pattern). It weighs Ten ounces vs the Hunter's 6.8.

The Blade is very Wide and, I think, thicker than any other AGR Folders.

I apologize that I do not yet know how to post photos.

Folks, let's try to keep images on topic with traditional knives or we will end up with a glut of off-topic posts and images that will need to be edited or removed.

How's the 8cr13m0v blade hold up? I have not owned any Ag Russell knives what that blade steel.
Also, do you have any pics showing the thickness of the handles?
Thanks
-Chris
