It depends upon what you are looking for. We've owned 4 Old English Sheepdogs and have loved them. Yes, they require a lot of work and you absolutely must be committed to keeping up with the grooming. Don't bother getting one if you aren't up to the commitment. We have a good friend/neighbor who has a Goldendoodle. Beautiful dog and also a love. It is their second, having lost one to an illness early in it's life so there is no guarantee that their life span is any longer than the OES. They, like the Old English, require lots of grooming and attention. There is no track record yet on their health, etc. and they are not purebred. Don't buy into those who say the Goldendoodle is less work or healthier. That is just not true. That doesn't mean they are not a good choice for a pet. You don't get dogs to "fill space" however" so think about what commitment you want to make to either one.

LOL!!! Probably thought the thread was about dogs and just typed away.
Here is a custom sheepdog from another thread...not mine.
I am enjoying my sheepdog as it came, but I'd be interested to see what mods others have made. I was thinking about adding a .45 casing end to the clip.
If you do, post it up here. I need to pick a sheepdog up. I am thinking tritium for sure.
Here is an idea. Make the pivot screw that is double the width, and step press the pivot screw hole of the blade to the correct width; and add some heavy duty wide [and thick] diameter washers. Make Ti liners that are checkered and almost one half inch thick a side.. I want there to be no scales, just a integral liner/scale. The sides should taper down and be belt sanded and then checkered[especially at the top where the Emerson opener is located; so the opener still has space to grip medium and function correctly]. Back spacer must be file worked. File work of broad heads/arrowheads and vine pattern or jigged for added grip/control.. Titanium frame screws. Red, Blue, or Green tritium vial(s) drill pressed [sunk] on the handle on both sides to make finding the knife easy in the dark.
I would add some skateboard tape to the handle (removable with stripper, naphtha, or goo-gone) This would add lots of grip. Really, if you could disassemble the knife and add industrial rubber bands to either liner/scale, then re assemble the knife it would be perfect. The industrial rubber bands would work as temporary removable [ranger bands] and add lots of grip surface to the blade.
This would be the perfect sheepdog and absolutely dependable. Tough as nails, and brutal quality. Thoughts?
Check out Rayster357 he has done a few pimp jobs on his own sheepdogs.. He is uber talented!
You guys are great!![]()
