Any plans for the Golden shop to do contract knives?

Hey Sal, are you planning to get enough production potential to start making contract knives for other knife companies? There's getting to be fewer and fewer contract shops stateside and the ones that remain are basically geared toward traditional designs (Queen, Great Eastern Cutlery). Is there a market for this kind of thing?

I'm not a "look for the union label" type, but there seems to be a lot of demand for USA made knives. With the breathtaking quality you're getting from your Taiwan shop, have plans for expanding the Golden plant been put on the back burner? I aquired an "S" model folder the other day and I'm totally floored by the flawless quality. Sheesh. That Taiwan maker is an ARTIST. But I digress...

What's on the horizon for the Golden shop?

I can't speak for Spyderco, but my guess would be "no" for plans to contract out work. It seems that while Spyderco is a world class company, the number of workers in Golden are rather small. Based on that and the number of special projects they seem to always be undertaking, (I can think of 6 off the top of my head) it would seem unlikely unless they expanded or moved locations.
