any pointers for shapening a seal pup??

I don't have a seal pup...yet.
But on my other SOGs, like on my Twitch II, I use the Spyderco Sharpmaker system, putting on a standard 40 degree edge.
It works really well and gets the edge hair shaving sharp.
It even does serrations.
It's the best sharpener for the money IMHO.
 
I also use a sharpmaker (doesn't everybody??). But I lay it flat and use it as a bench stone and put a convex edge on the 2000 in about an hour. Haven't had to get down and really sharpen the thing since.
 
Another vote for the Sharpmaker...go ahead and spend the $$ and get one! I use it on just about everything, including scissors. It keeps the edges on my SP Elite (and all other knives) RAZOR sharp! Great for quick touch-ups on my Trident EDC.
 
I freehand sharpen with dmt diamond stones on my sog seals and sog tigersharks at about 25 degrees.
 
I do the same with my Ontario Spec Plus...it's too damn big to use with the sharpmaker!
