Any poor man version of an RMD?

I was looking at ratmandu's and I like them but they are expensive... anyone know of a knife that is similar but will not cost me as much. I just want a beater that I can practice sharpening n stuff on.
 
Gerber profile around $20
Buck special hunter around $45
Kabar heavy bowie around $50

If you're looking for a beater there are a lot out there.

I think he is referencing the first three knives on that link.

Also, any cold steel machete will mandate that you become good at sharpening, especially the first week of taking off the ultra soft steel from the grinding process. Thats a lesson in itself.
