My father thinks he remembers my grandfather carrying a knife w a keystone shield.

I know S&M make one now - I need to find a nice one for my father - I bought a harness jack for him but I'm not crazy about the shape of the handle.

Are there any requirements for the knife beyond having a keystone shield?

Schatt have made a lot of patterns over the years with a Keystone shield so if the HJ doesn't please you there are many other styles to choose from. I'm awaiting a current incarnation Mini Muskrat in Blackbone. The Keystone annuaul range started in the early 1990s I seem to remember, and ran for 18 series. It was then followed by the 'Heritage' series, nice knives but often flawed build. Queen seems to have, under its new ownership, revived the Keystone shield for short runs lately. However, I'm sure the Keystone shield did appear on very much older Schatts as well, pre world war even.

There is a Moderator, Morrow, who visits here. Drop him a note, he is kind of into the PA thing. Might be able to help you.

It would have to be fairly easy to open. Probably fairly medium in length. He has large hands but hates carry weight.
