Greetings all, as you know the aniversary of the horrible events of 9/11 are once again coming up. Are you going to change your routine i.e. not go to work if you work in a "target" ala Sears tower etc., or avoid using mass transit or flying? Will you be carrying some sort of urban BOB? Has your awareness been heightened since 9/11 in general?
Me?, well I always carry a knife or two on me, and my truck has a few necessities... pry bar, large knife, cold steel shovel, small axe, rope, paracord, tarp, blanket, etc. I don't work in a "target" or take mass transit, so those things don't apply to me. My awareness has increased also. I do have a nagging dread that something will happen again, but some doubts that the terrorists will have the cojones to do it again on the aniversary.
Your thoughts and ideas appreciated...

My preparations won't change, but I'm already relatively well prepared. I don't think they will do anything on 9-11. IMO they will attack when we are not expecting it. They probably have enough people in the US to cause serious problems with many small attacks, but IMO they will hold back until after the next big attack. Once we get hit with a big strike, then many smaller attacks can keep us from responding effectively as well as cause serious amounts of death and destruction.

As for preparations, always have a survival kit and medical kit in your vehicle, and maybe in your workplace if you normally carry a backpack or briefcase. I don't think I have to tell everyone here to carry a few knives. ;)

in the car:

Have a 20" shortsword(Ontario Blackwind Bengal) in my trunk, duct tape, 50 feet of electircal wire, 50feet of 16oz snare wire, 100feet of 1/2" bradied nylon rope(500lbs snap weight) on a 400lbs snap weight beiner, 5lb sledge, 2d mag, $40 cash(if anything enough to get me home to the rest of my gear).... if the shtf, I can get home to enough supplies to last a month(lots of dry and canned goods) other than water so far.

thinking of picking up a couple cullagan 5gal jugs and a hand pump.

I'm always prepared to a point, but I will be sure to carry a flashlight, knife, multi-tool, whistle, aspririn, bandanna, lighter, and a cell phone. If I thought I could get by with it, I'd be carrying the Sig 239 as well, but work policy does not allow it.

The bad guys know we're looking over our shoulders on that day, so I wouldn't expect trouble anyway......

I'm prepared to stop listening to their "Mother of all Battles, the Americans are not in Bagdad" lying hyperbole and get on with my life. "Put up or shut up" is more like it. We are kicking their unwiped backsides. If they can manage another attack we will raise the heat tenfold. Mac
