Any production knives with 3-4" BG-42 blade?

I love BG-42 blades, they are sharp and hold the edge for ever ...a little hard to sharpen but I enjoy sharpening my knives. The problem is I don't want to put a custom knife into real hard use and can't find a cheaper production one. SOG's X42 is beautiful but I wish they would make a smaller version. Does anyone know about some production bg42 blades?

Thanks Anthony.
Just took a look at the autoclip at Sog's website, but it's an American Tanto blade, and I have to say that I hate A' Tanto and chisel grind. Do you know whether Sog has a smaller X42 Field knife?

You used to be able to get a Buck 110 from the Buck custom shop w/ BG-42 blade (and your choice of handle materials and handle shape and blade coatings). Head to the Buck site, bet it's still there. People raved about their custom 110s.

pre 2002 sebenzas had bg42, I think. also, first production run of buck-striders had bg42 too.

but how about considering s30V - there are a couple of s30V at under $100, notably the prohunter folder by bladetech or the native by spyderco.

a little more than $100 would bag you the camillus dominator in S30V ($135) and buck mayo (also s30V) at a little bit more if you spot them in the trading forums.

I just had a BG-42 installed on one of my Buck 560's and on a 110 finger groove. You can go the custom route, or you can buy a regular 110 and contact Joe Houser at the Buck site on this forum and make arrangements to have a BG-42 blade installed for $35.00 including return shipping. Now that's a good deal in my book. I absolutely love the BG-42 blade.

lreed, the X-42 Autoclips are V ground. Took me a while to warm up to the blade shape, but after I did and bought one, I was not disapointed.

As for a Mini X-42 Field knife, there is non.:( (There is the Field Pup in AUS8 though) I hope that SOG comes out with a 3.5" to 4.5" BG-42 fixed blade. Or a new blade shape for their X-42 Autoclip. That would be way cool.

The Buck 110 with an upgraded blade is a good one.

The first production run of Buck/Striders had BG-42, if you can hunt one down. The large has a blade length of 4", and the smaller one has a blade length of 3".

I had a Buck560 and upgraded its blade to BG42. It's actually the first bg42 blade I own and impressed me a lot. However, it's blade is so thin that I was always worrying about breaking it while using it.
