Any questions regarding our carry systems? :)

Hey, as long as my knife doesn't cut its way through the side of the sheath and into my leg, I couldn't care less how many scratches are on it.

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. I think I need to leave this forum.

I think that most people will agree that most kydex or kydex-lined sheaths will mar the blade. I haven't owned one that didn't. I think certain things can be done in terms of fit, but repeated withdraws and insertions of the knife will put some wear on the blade if you are using kydex. The trade-off is that you have a carry system that is going to be safe and secure.

I'm wondering what are all the ways to use this sheath. The snaps I figured out, and I think I have the velcro thing, but there are other loops and places to put cord through. I suppose I should just use my imagination.

I bought my first Strider from another forum member about 6 weeks ago. After playing with it, I feel it's like my Glock... ain't pretty, but tough and reliable.

Foxtrot the scratches.

Tom,
Sounds like you're "tip up" on the bottle!

Hey Guys....

One thing you guys have to remember...

You are going to be buying a Strider for one purpose or the other...

1. you are going to use the knife..

2. You buy Strider as an Investment..

3.You buy a Strider, and wear it in front of the mirror..

If you use the knife, scratching from kydex will be the least of your worries.

If you bought your Strider as an investment, put it in a silk lined box behind glass and display it somewhere...

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that,, if you are going to use the knife, the scratches you get from Kydex, are going to be Nothing compared to the scratches from day to day use.

No matter what is done to a kydex sheath, and I don't care if you line it with the fluff off of a baby ducks Ass,, it's going to scratch no matter what kind of sheath you put it in.

You bought a Strider for a reason. Enjoy the Frigging knife and quite worrying about scratches ...

I bought a Battle Mistress awhile ago. Sure it's pretty in NIB condition,,but each scratch tells a story and holds a memory of something. I brought mine in the house, looked at it for 15-20 mins then took it outside an lopped off a couple branches, then split some firewood with it.

I enjoy using my knives, and have Absolutely no use for another knick knack stuck in a drawer. That's why I'll never buy a knife that I will only look at...

Just my opinion guys...

Hmmmm. Well, yeah these knives are made to be used, and used hard. But does that mean we want them to be ugly? Hell, I love the way my Strider looked out of the box, and I'd like to keep it that way. Do I use my Strider? Hell yeah. But any of the cutting I've done hasn't marred the finish. (I guess chopping through Cadilacs might have that effect though)

Anyway, I think that if there is a way to make the sheaths strong AND have them not fuk up the blast finish, all the better.

My 2 cents....

F**k scratches, it was not made to be pretty (even know it is, in an ugly kind of way). The is just the most kick ass user knife there ever is and will be.

My 2 cents

Hey Kumdo...

You are Completely missing the point...

It has Nothing to do with strength, I'm sure the sheaths are strong enough.

The point I'm trying to make is that,, No matter What you put in the sheath to keep it from scratching it Will happen.

It's not always the kydex that scratches the knife, but what kind of Crap is trapped in the sheath.

One little grain of sand will cause havoc to a knife. You can't control this.
