The problem is, it looks real to me. But if it is, it's worth so much money I'm not comfortable with going on record saying that.

Oh it is real. I worked for Wayne Buxton for a couple of years in the late 80's, you know the man the Buxton fighter is named after. I have seen and handled a ton of Randall's, just not one this old. I have even handled the Randall that Charles Whitman killed his mother with. As for a price, it is going to be up there. tim

Yeah, I know Wayne too. He's quite a character. But then, so am I.

If I remember correctly, we're talking early '70s on that, but I'd have to look it up to be sure. Which I'm not in the mood to do tonight. Sorry.

Well. I guess you do learn something new every day. As odd as it sounds, I didn't know he had a Randall and I find that bit of history (with mixed emotions) interesting.

The then new owner of that Randall offered it back to Bo Randall. Mr. Randall turned it down and said he never wanted to see it again. He related that "That knife almost put me out of business" with all the bad publicity it received.

'62 vintage RMK #14 Attack - Tenite handle, early (the earliest) Johnson Splitback sheath w/canteen snap. Johnson started making sheaths for RMK in or around early 1962...by '63 he'd done away w/the canteen snap and went to two brown buttons. Nice older RMK, but likely not as valuable as some would think...

Hope that helps,

Shel

p.s. I just walked in the door, returning from the Eugene, OR. OKCA show and there were many Tenite handled RMK's there, some in nicer condition - the only one over $6500 was a white Tenite variant (the very earliest Tenite handled knife type)
