Are there any reviews of the rattle hawk or could someone tell me how good they are?

I've been using the hell out of mine and I love it, but it's my first T-hawk...

Two things I would change: the tip of the beard is thin and mine has already chipped a bit and the top edge doesn't have a secondary bevel so it's not very sharp.

I think that's oak and I did about 3/4 of that with the RH

Cool pics.

I believe I will order one of these before they go.

I sold my BAD just for this purpose.

I wonder if they would sell me one with the final edge not put on the underside of the beard, and the spike. I don't need the edge there, and it would be a bit more robust there without taking that final bit of steel off for the edge.

I have been throwing hawks for a long time, and this one would make a very nasty weapon, and thrower.

My change to this design would be to make the top meeting of the front bit edge and top edge as a point, not rounded.

I don't think the spike has a secondary bevel either. I've been plunging mine into a steel barrel and it doesn't seem to be effecting the edge at all.

I started throwing this hawk and it's a beast. From like ten yards I get this thing to stick no matter what. However it hits the wood, it sticks. Lots of fun but oh so deadly. It's a hell of a weapon!

I had a chance to play with one when the Swamp guys were doing the first batch. Beast is a good word for them. I beat the crap out of one and it just kept going. It is a very good thrower from almost any distance. If you can hit the target, it is going to stick.
Swamp Rat hit a home run with the Rattle Hawk.

I have been throwing hawks for a long time. I can stick my regular hawks out past 50 feet. At closer ranges (within 20 feet), I can stick them walking, coming or going.

I can throw two hawks at the same time (either hand) and stick targets at the same time.

So a hawk like this gives a lot of possibilities. Especially with the sharp top edge. With a hard thrown hawk, at point blank range (within 12 feet) you really can't miss a stick with the edge facing rearward.

With this hawk design, it would stick without doing the bit turn at close range.

In my prime (many moons ago) I could throw at pretty much any distance out to about 75 feet. Could throw 2 hawks in each hand and stick everytime. Underhand, overhand, side arm, crossbody side arm, even went between the legs sometimes. Favorite game was sticking tooth picks in the block and trying to split them length wise. But like I said that was a different time. Now I love the idea of multiple edges. I need every chance I can get.
