Ok, so can't resist asking this, regardless of how stupid it may or may not be.

Is there any "real" (as in decent steel, full tang, good quality) knifes that have brass knuckles for a hilt on the market currently, that I could just play with and beat the crap out of for fun even though there not a practical knife at all...

Or if there isn't, whats the deal with the old old old ones? Are they possible to find, and if you find them, what are they worth and how do you tell there real?

Thanks. :foot:

Not sure about the production knives ...

But I know Jeremy Horton, a young knifemaker with a sub-forum here on BF, has recently made a few. I haven't had the chance to use one, but I've purchased a good number of his other knives ... and found them outstanding.

Wander on over to his sub-forum and take a look.

8 Dollar Mountain Foundery. They're handmade but the prices are extremely reasonable. Most under $100. And you can match handles to blades on the site when ordering.

Cool find on Plowshare Forge too, InfidelShootist.

I love this forum. I expected to be ridiculed, but I got a ton of good info in 3 post! I'm researching what you guys have told me now, but any other info is appreciated.

Ty guys who have answered so far though.

Edit 1: I found the Jeff Horton trench knives. They are awesome! Yet a little to pricey for me to beat up. :D

Edit 2: I found Plowshare Forge. Wish they had a real site, still trying to figure it out. I also found 8 dollar mountain foundery too, and am trying to figure that out too. Am I right by saying he mods pre existing blades into trench knifes? If so, I may have to pick up a cold steel khukri...

Do you know what steel and RC EDMF uses?

Probably your best bet is to pick up something cheap and decide if you like the design. Then, go for a quality knife -- which is all you can get from Jeremy Horton.:)

I learned long ago to never, ever stint on anything I was depending on.

No. I discovered them in a Tactical Knives article many years ago. Positive review & sweet pictures. I'm pretty sure it's straight carbon steel. As best as I can remember he uses worn out saw blades from a lumber mill or something (hence the $75 to $90 prices). I'll e-mail him & ask. I'd forgotten about them until this thread reminded me & I'm considering splurging a little if they're not back ordered. I'll post the info when I get an answer.

He does that on top of making his own blades. Makes me want to snatch up a Spec-Plus or two (dozens of patterns in 1095 for cheap) & have them satin finished & sent for the handle treatment.
