Hello to you all. I usually do not post much and have been away for sometime from the forums. Recently have gotten bitten to purchase a new slippie and I know there are a lot of good products out there. I am considering a Tidioute Model 23 with Brimstone scales. Does anyone have any experience with this knife or other Great Eastern products?

I also want to say I do enjoy the "folksie" nature of this traditional knife forum category. :)

Thanks for any input you have.

Gary

No.23 is a BIG knife but if that's what you like and need:thumbup:

I'm very pleased with the 4 GE knives I have, all No.73 pattern a bit smaller but still pretty hefty knives.Fit, finish and sharpness are beyond reproach. The latest one I have is a Burnt Stag Liner lock in barehead style. It's not as strongly sprung as other models which is good, firm opener but not a nail breaker!Patina is coming on well(but it doesn't get as quick as CASE CV don't know why)and I like the linerlock single blade set-up.

Check greateasterncutlery.net for range and dealers. Note BARLOW fans, there's a No.53 in various scales coming out shortly AND it's allegedly smaller and lighter than other models:D

I just recieved a #54 Harness Jack in Antique Bone and have been real pleased with the workmanship.:thumbup::thumbup: It's a tad on the large size (4.25" closed) for EDC, so I bought a Moore Maker sheath for it. True to GEC, the blade springs have some real snap but its not a nail ripper.
Surely not my last purchase from this company :)

Thanks for informing on the models Willboy and Comoha. After further review the No. 23's might be larger than I would like unless I would purchase a belt sheath. Normally I do prefer a smaller size for the pocket. So I have so more thinking it over to do.

The Harness Jack also comes in yellow handle and stag,it offers choice of clip or spear blades in carbon.

GB check the No.73 patterns, 3.75 inch and some single or doubled blades.

Willgoy,

I have been checking out the No. 73 Scout in End Capped in the Diamond Chocolate Bone on several dealer sites. It sure looks like it would be a better one to ride in one's pocket. It has clip and spey blades.

I would like to see the Barlow styles when they get released.

On another note: I am starting to get some yellow fever too from the other thread. Goes with the saying too many knives and not enough $$. ;)

Thanks for your input.
