Apologies, I glanced at a few rather than all 227 pages of "which Benchmade are you carrying today?" - are there any members that regularly carry / use a 765?
Since I got mine I've really wanted to like it and have needed to fiddle with it (voiding warrantee and making it unsellable). I eventually took it apart got stuck in with my dremel to get rid of all the sharp edges in that strange over-travel stop design / milling nightmare that made use really uncomfortable. It doesn't look pretty but it actually feels right now.

My Benchmade manufactured Alias 2 has a much simpler and in my opinion, better, lockbar interface ... the way it was invented.
Whilst it was apart I sorted out the detent that was a bit strong in my opinion. It still has a Sebenza type approach needed to open it but it no longer flies open after overcoming the flipper strength detent it had.
So I'm going to carry it for the weekend and see if I can finally get to like this guy. It bugs me that I needed to take a dremel to a $300 knife to make it functional but it's done now.
This really is a stunning looking knife with a great blade and a really comfortable handle (now that the pointy bits are gone). Size wise it really works for me and visually it is simple and clean. Unfortunately over engineering spoiled it.
So, is there anyone out there that regularly uses a 765?

Dumb the 765 down and get rid of the design features added because you could rather than because it was needed - PB washers rather than bearings, simple (normal) lockbar interface and a regular pocket clip and you may have a knife that can fight with my Sebenzas for pocket time ...
