It sure would be nice to start seeing some reports on what went on at Blade. I know that most people are just getting back from the show and I sure hope that Monday will bring many fine threads related to all the great custom knives that were seen at Blade. Pictures would be greatly appreciated as well.

Keith,

This was my 1st time to the Blade show. I WAS BLOWN AWAY! It would take me two weeks to type (finger peck) what I experienced in three days. The knives were great, BUT the people were BETTER. Getting to meet the ones I had wanted to, and spending time with them was a BLAST. I DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE. I did not buy one knife nor did I order any. (Have several on order already) My wife was very pleased. I can't wait till next year. I'm tired, will tell specifics later.

Hello Keith: This was the best Blade Show ever. Attendence was right up there with the most, There were a lot of new makers and some fantastic knives available. The antique knife section had a lot of knives that were there for the first time. Got to hold and talk about two James Black Bowies, and other knives that were very significant artifacts of history. About as intence as any show can be, averaged about 4 hours sleep a night and on the go always.

I wish I could go to Blade. :( I have never been to a show. I have some serious plans to try and make it to Blade Show West, since I'll be moving to CA in less than a month now. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll have blades finished for sale.

I am going to figure out a way to get to Blade next year if it kills me. Well maybe not kills me. How the heck could I enjoy the show if I was dead? I really want to get to meet the makers and fellow knife knuts that attend a show like that. It would also be fantastic to be in a place with that many great knives. All the demonstations and seminars would be a gas as well. Gotta set my sights on next year.

Man Ed you are not kidding about the sleep. There are so many people that want to talk you about what we are doing and when you cant get away. I bet I talked more in the bare in the pit than i did at the show. There were lots of people asking lots of questions and that is a good thing becase they have a intrest in coustom knives but boy i think i could have answered a lot better on a little more sleep.

Sleep deprivation fueled by liquid happiness:)

I also got to meet a lot of the Blade Forms community, I swore to remember faces and names to the handles some use, Hope they stay fresh in my mind. Lots of good conversation and questions that made me think long into the sleep time. I could not sleep for two days before the show, and at the show it was worse, could not stand to waste any time with simple sleep. Good Times and Thanks.
Take Care

I was standing next to Ed Fowler while looking at the James Black bowies. It was a pleasure to meet him and he took the time to explain many things about them to me. Meeting Ed and other Gentlemen like him was the highlight of the show.

Next year all you guys are going to have to make sure you get to bed right after the show closes each day. That way you will be full of vim and vinegar through the whole show and when it is over you won't feel so worn out. Besides, who needs to drink and carouse anyhow? ;)

Keith, I didn't have a single drink. You ought to call.

Aaron: One thing I think I have figured out, when you provide an answer and the one asking the question just kind of stares at you, you probably gave the wrong answer. Questions have a way of attracting the wrong answers in direct proportion to degrees of sleep deprivation.

I enjoyed blade a lot. Most of the funny parts would have to be in W&C.:D

Mr. Fowler
I enjoyed talking to you at the airport. It was a great ending to a great weekend. What did you do to your hand?

My blade show experience almost never happened with a crucial setback at work that required me to miss the Friday of the show. The first table I went to was Mike and Michelle Snody's . They are the coolest people you could ever meet. I did have a big problem with them! There was not a knife left on their table and they were nowhere in sight. I did find Edmund Davidson sitting at their table and he is a trip to talk to. I eventually was able to find and speak with Mike and the stunning Michelle but darn it I went there for a Snody knife! I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ed Fowler and he was as nice and sincere as I expected him to be. I was stoked that I was able to visit with him. All of the makers that I talked to were very gracious with their time. My advice to anyone going to blade is to schedule time off for it as soon as possible. Missing the show on Friday is the worst!!!!

I have come to the conclusion that to truly enjoy the entire experience you need to arrive on Thurs before dinner and stay until Monday morning. There are an amazing number of people to meet and talk to.

I agree Tom, even at that I never get to spend time with all the people I want to spend time with.
