Any s30v knifes being made?

Are you being funny? look at benchmade, strider, spyderco etc... All of the major brands are offering it in their higher end knives.

I think it's time to ban this person, no one is that stupid.

This thread Reported to Mods.

(Oh wait, "My little brother stole my account, it's not me really!")

So he is uninformed, big deal. Give the guy a break. Go tattle to the mods and feel a little better about yourself, ok? Freaking "knife elitists", get off your horses.

I can't even imagine anyone with 1200+ post not knowing the answer to the question he is posing. Its not a very good attempt at a troll, but I just can't see it being for real eithr.

Sorry to offend some of you. None of my Spydercos or Benchmades are made of S30v steel that I'm aware of. Nor do I know of any that are. I'll admit that I haven't searched their catelogs for every tidbit of info about every knife they make. I'm far more interested in what kind of feel and finish they have than the steel they are made from. So maybe I do have one or have seen one and didn't realize it.

don't own and have never even seen a Spider, or Spyder, or Spyker or whatever other similarly named knives exist although there seems to be a bunch of folks who talk about them like they are the "holy grail" of knife making.

If you geniuses are so knowledgeable that you have all the answers to all the knife questions then why not just skip over the post (that's what I do if I'm not interested).

Anyway, have a great day all you great troll slayers!

P.S. I still think this is some neat info and worthy of the question.

I don't think they are so great. I send in a brand new $200 limited edition Benchmade #630 Skirmish to customer service because a screw holding the Optimiser system rod was stripped out coming from the factory. After a month I got it back and it still doesn't open like it should. I emailed them about this opening problem two days ago and still have not received a reply.

Does that mean you no longer own a BM 630?

DGG: You are a member of the Spyderco forum! You are the one who is constantly posting the links to god knows what steel pages! You just asked whether to buy the Ruckus or the Manix, BOTH made from S30V!

Well, I have the feeling that there is someone else posting under DGG's account. Or DGG just had a stroke.

Sounds to me that somebody has hi-jacked his account. Lets not jump to conclusions about DGG until some more facts are known.

What the hell is an optimiser system rod? I am looking at my Skirmish and I don't see anything that fits that description.

In the past I have felt the DGG has been pretty knowledgable. Something odd is going on here. Is not CPMS30V the same as s30v?

Hey, has anyone here ever heard of or used the Buck model "110"? Is this something new that just came out?

The optimiser rod is on the BM 670 Apparition. The 630 has a mono-lock (framelock) design.

By the way, has anyone seen the Benchmade 705? It comes with something called an Axis lock. Very cool.

I saw a knife today that had a hole in the blade, right straight through! That's NUTS! Why would someone do that! I don't know the name, but is has some kinda bug of somthing on the handle, YAEH That's it it's called Buggerco!

Have you seen those!

and you know what, the durn thing FOLDS, YEAH and then it sticks on your pocket somhow. I think it's metalized velco! I don't know why more don't use the metalized valcro!
