Ive been trying to decide which model Kershaw to start collecting......skyline and leek are high on the list but im considering something different. can anyone tell me how many models are out there for the Zing, Scallion, or JYD? Just want to have some idea of what im getting into if i pick one of those models and if there is enough models to last me a few years of collecting Thanks

i would pick JYD if it were me, not that many models, but some awesome variants out there

If I wasn't already so deep into Leeks, I'd probably do the Scallion. I love those new colors.

1735 - black handle, grooved satin blade
1735DAM - black handle, alabama damascus blade
1735OR - orange handle, grooved satin blade
1735T - black handle, smooth satin tanto blade
1735TBLK - black handle, smooth black tanto blade
1735TGRNCKT - green handle, smooth black tanto blade
1735TST - black handle, smooth satin combo edge tanto blade

1730SS - stainless steel handle, assisted opening, smooth satin blade (Made in China)

The Zing is the only series I currently want to try to own as a set. (sans the ss version) I have four lack the 1735TST, 1735GRNCKT AND 1735T.

My introduction to them was by chance, I received the wrong knife from a seller, it was a Zing. It was such a sturdy great flipping little knife that I bought an orange one. That led me to the decision that the series would be a cheap and somewhat easy to obtain. I have the hard part done by owning the Damascus one.

thats my thing i own one of about every kershaw model now so i want to collect all of one model. But im not rich and need to select a model that isnt to high dollar but has enough knives produced to keep me going for sometime. skyline was my first pick but so many people collect them and most are limited runs ( which i missed out on last few weeks) that it would be hard and pricey to collect. i can afford like one knife a week so needs to be a good many models to buy.

i looked into the scallions there doesnt seem to be alot of different models is there? And what i seen it was just different colar handles mostly.....

I guess I don't know what you mean by different models. All the different colors have a different model number. I would guess there's probably at least 25.

The Zing would be a great one to collect as they are relatively cheap and just enough models to make it special without being impossible. But if you're going to do it start fast as being discontinued the new ones are starting to get hard to come by.

I have them all but the tanto serrated and that's probably the easiest to come by in stock- just have to do it one of these days. The Damscus seem to be pretty rare, I was fortunate to score one a while back and glad I jumped as I haven't seen another for sale since.

I also collect the skylines, leeks and scallions. There are a couple of the skylines I've pretty much given up on and the leeks and scallions would take forever to try and complete.

Working on the Zings myself. Just missed out on the orange. Hopefully we will see some Dam models in the near future. I knew the Dam would be hard to find, but the orange is just aggravating me.

i seen dave was suppose to get zing damascus knives in.....did they come in and sell, not coming in, or not come in yet? i see where he has alot of other damascus but havent seen anyone talking about the 1735dam

i didnt think there were that many scallions..... its a hard choice to make lol

Scallions are great because they aren't very expensive, but they've been around quite a while and have done quite a few runs of only a year or two. I didn't realize it till I started thing it would be cool to try and get one of each... I'll probably keep going as they release new ones, but not going to kill myself tracking down all the old ones.

Someone said in another thread that Dave didn't know if they made the Zings or not. So I'm not sure about it. I didn't email him personally.

Thanks i was wondering why i havent heard anything about them like the rest of the damascus knives everyone is talking about......i seen he was taking orders was going to add name to list if it wasnt to late

Do the JYD, they're the coolest. Small model in steel frame lock, large in G10, 2 patterns composite, one in gray plain G10, and the Ti/SG2 and ti frame lock version. I think that's it
