Any Sebenza 25 Pros? Having a strange issue with action

Does anyone know what could be wrong? I have a Sebenza 25 that has worked perfectly for years but all of a sudden the knife hits a "bump" just before the blade is in the completely closed position.

The knife hits this "bump" when you open and close the knife. By "bump" I mean that it feels like it's hitting something and it becomes more difficult to close and to open, as if something is getting stuck within the pivot system.

After this problem started, I disassembled the knife to see if anything looked abnormal inside, but nothing looked out of place. The washer with the notch that is supposed to sit in the hole to keep it in place, is in where it's supposed to be and I can't see anything else that looks strange.

I clean it up and reassemble it but the problem is still there.

Has anyone else had this problem? Nothing has happened to the knife and I haven't even been messing with it in any way.

It's a Sebenza 25th Anniversary Edition made in 2013.

Thanks for reading.

I would agree that it could be the stop pin being out of alignment.
Is it one that has a pinned stop pin ? Sometime after February, they went away from the pinned stop pin.

Is it possible that the stop pin may have rotated? It is an asymmetrical part on the 25 that can cause clearance issues if not properly aligned.

Mine does that when the stop pin is out of position.

You guys really are pros! That was totally the issue so thank you. I don't understand why they wouldn't make it easier on themselves by putting a notch or some type of guide or groove on the stop pin against the scale so the assemblers never have to think or waste time trying to get it right. They put enough thought into all the other parts and then there's this one design flaw to what otherwise could be the perfect knife even for cleaning. I also don't get why they use a pivot screw that spins from both sides instead of using the type that BM or Spyderco use that doesn't spin due to the one flat side of the screw and matching scale.

Anyways, thanks again you guys!

The first batch with the pinned stop pins don't have that problem. The stop pin stays in place. You can always put a drop of Superglue or the red Loctite to help keep it from moving. I've got one from Feb. 2013 that has the pinned stop pin and have never had an issue. It wasn't until I got the second one that has the allen heads on both sides did I learn about the flat part on the stop pin and how critical it is to make sure it doesn't move during re assembly.

On my 25 I leave the lock side stop pin screw always tight. Set it with some loctite when I first got the knife and have never touched it. I've disassembled countless times and it stays where it should.

This is what I have done. I put purple Loctite on the lock side screw and never take it off - just remove the presentation side when it needs a takedown. Mine is from late May 2013.
