Hi, I'm a newbie to the forums and I know it is generally poor forum etiquette to ask for something on a forum before contributing
, but I would just like to ask if there are any good videos for freehand (whetstone I guess) sharpening out there. I've been searching the forums and the internet and have found some good text resources such as this one: This one is pretty good
It is very detailed, but unfortunately because I'm very new to all of this some parts can be vague or confusing. Also, what few references I've been able to find all deal with kitchen knives or cutlery (as opposed to pocket knifes, folders, etc.)
I was hoping someone would be able to provide a good, I wouldn't say definitive, but a detailed video on how to sharpen a knife. I've been searching for quite a while and have been unable to find any good ones (a bit frustrating after a while :grumpy: ).
Anyway, I appreciate and time and attention given to this thread and thanks in advance

I've also heard of a video by Murray Carter for sharpening, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
