I never see much on this knife. Been eyeing one for 2 years and finally have it on the way now. I know the pricing was a bit off on release, $445 to $490, but the aftermarket prices seem much more on par with reason.

I just love the looks of it and am curious to hear how anyone else feels about it.

They are nice knives but the handle is way too long for the blade length, in my opinion. There’s also that big round lug at the bottom for a lanyard and to hold the clip on, which causes the g10 or carbon fiber to not run the full length of the handle. Looks unfinished to me. The Spartan SHF is a much cleaner looking knife and has a blade length more my liking anyways, which I do plan to be picking one up in the near future.

That's a good looking knife too, a bit Strider like, but way too small for me. Gotta make the cut off around 7.5 inches or so.

The SHF is definitely not small at 8.75" total. They Have a smaller one, the SHF 3.25, which is 7.125" total.

Also I'm not really seeing the Strider comparison, I think Bill Harsey has a very unique design language all to himself, seemingly inspired by some of the more classic makers, rather than a brutal tactical aesthetic. And speaking of Strider, at least the guys who run Spartan actually were SF....

Ahh, didn't realize there were 2 sizes. Makes sense. And I have no feelings for strider one way or the other, just the first thing my mind thought when I pulled the knife up.

I like the Akribis, yes it has a lot of handle but that works for me. Overall it's a pretty nice knife, blade is very similar to a CR drop point. It's solid and feels good in the hand. It's quite different from a SHF. Probably not everyone's cup of tea for the reasons mentioned above, long handle to blade ratio and a large odd lanyard hole but it's just different, those things don't bother me at all. The fact it doesn't have a flipper is a big plus.
